Privacy policy

DoluMu is an independent project offering hourly crowd forecasts and live line information for Istanbul public transport. This policy covers both the website (dolumu.app) and the iOS app.

There are no accounts; we never ask for your name, phone number or advertising identifier. We do not track you across apps or websites, show ads, or sell your data.

Favourites, recent searches, language and theme are kept only on your device (browser storage or your phone) and are never sent to us. You can delete them under Settings → Your data.

Your location is used only when you ask for it and allow it, never in the background.

On the website, nearby stations are worked out in your browser; your location is not sent to our servers.

In the iOS app, a position rounded to about 100 m is sent to our server to find nearby stations, stops and İstanbulkart top-up points. It is not stored; it may only appear in our hosting provider's short-lived technical request logs. Your exact position never leaves your phone.

When you turn on a disruption alert or a bus alarm, your device is registered with an anonymous ID and a push token. The lines, stations and alarm details you choose (stop, line, direction, minutes before arrival) are stored with that registration.

Alarms last at most 60 minutes. Device registrations unused for 90 days are deleted. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

When you use Report a problem on the website or Send feedback in the app, the text, an optional line code and, if you give it, your email address are kept only to look into your report and reply. An email address is optional.

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate page-view counts; it uses no cookies and does not identify you. The iOS app contains no analytics or crash-reporting tools.

The website and the app API run on Vercel; the forecast and notification server runs at Hetzner (Germany). Notifications are delivered through Expo and the Apple Push Notification service. Map tiles load from OpenFreeMap; these requests include your IP address and the area you are viewing.

Transit data is fetched by our servers from the open services of İBB, Metro İstanbul and İETT; no data about you is sent to them.

Under Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) and applicable law, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data. Write to the address below.

You can also remove your notification registration yourself: turn off all alerts or delete the app, and it is deleted within 90 days.

DoluMu does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
